In Informatica, deployment groups serve as an important tool to streamline the deployment process across folders, repositories, and environments. These groups act as intelligent containers, facilitating the organizational grouping of objects essential for seamless deployment.

There are two different types of delivery groups in Informatica: static and dynamic.

Static Deployment Groups Dynamic Delivery Groups
Static groups are primarily designed for one-time object transfers and provide an easy solution for deploying objects. This allows users to specify specific versions of objects, ensuring consistent and accurate deployments. Additionally, static groups are ideal for scenarios where objects change minimally and do not need to be updated frequently. Dynamic groups, on the other hand, are suitable for environments characterized by frequent updates and changes to objects. These groups are query-driven and dynamically collect the latest versions of objects. This flexibility ensures that your deployment reflects the latest configuration and streamlines the process of deploying regular updates

The Informatica Delivery Group has functionality that spans a variety of objects essential to the data integration process. These objects include folders, maps, mapplets, reusable transformations, sources, targets, workflows, sessions, and tasks. By encapsulating these components into deployment groups, Informatica enables users to seamlessly transfer objects between repositories in different domains, making deployment workflows more agile and efficient.
