Global Repository in Informatica:

A Global Repository is a centralized repository in a domain. It allows sharing of objects across the repositories in a domain. The objects are created once and used in multiple mappings across the domain.

Steps to create a Global Repository:

Launch the Informatica PowerCenter Repository Manager.
Go to the “Repository” menu and select “Create”.
In the “Create Repository” dialog box, provide the necessary details such as Repository Name, Database Type, Connection String, Username, and Password.
Select the “Global” option and click on “OK”.

Local Repository in Informatica:

A Local Repository is a standalone repository which doesn’t share any connections or objects with other repositories.
